She-Hulk had been fighting against Parademons for a good hour, trying to keep them from reaching her unconscious teammate. Wonder Woman was one of the most wanted people by the Apokoliptian invaders. Being the leader of the largest group of anti-Kalibak resistance, removing the Amazon from the picture would surely help Kalibak conquer the rest of the free world. Also, Granny Goodness was itching for a chance to brainwash the princess of Themyscira and make her into one of her furies.

Jennifer was growing desperate. No matter how many Parademons she slaughtered, there were only more of them joining the battle. It was simply too much for her to take on alone. A group of Parademons had already breached through her defense and were about to capture Wonder Woman. Having experienced their cruelty first-hand, She-Hulk was getting worried for her friend. She had just been dealt a nasty blow to her liver, forcing her on her knees. A particularly ugly Parademon was about to deliver the final strike, when a loud bang erupted from afar.

Barely a second later, the Parademon's head exploded in a gory display of bone shards and brain matter. Someone had shot him with a very familiar sniper rifle. She-Hulk grinned victoriously, the cavalry was here. Jennifer heard a loud battle cry erupt from the apartment behind her where she had left Diana. Jeniffer turned on her heels to witness Shayera Hol kicking two dead Parademons through the window and smashing her Nth metal mace over the head of a third one.

Relieved that Wonder Woman was safe, She-Hulk launched herself back into battle with renewed vigor. She spotted Artemis and Cyclops joining the battle not too far away from her position. On the rooftop of a nearby building, Jason Todd aka Red Hood was providing cover fire for his teammates while Fire was watching his back.

It didn't take them more than ten minutes to kill the remaining Parademons. Once the coast was clear, the took their still unconscious leader and retreated to another building. Hopefully, she would wake up before a new troop of Parademons or Hellhounds found them.
