Many aspiring villains fought self-proclaimed heroes and competed or worked with other powerful villains. Most failed. In the typical scenario, their enemies on both sides of the law always did them in, and it wasn't a normal, humdrum person that made it happen. A run-of-the-mill cop or group of them never went toe to toe with someone planning to dominate the world. It was always someone wearing a fancy costume, or part of a super special and elite task force.

But throughout, a certain someone realized, after poring over headliner after headliner, that they all had something in common: fancy names, fancy titles, and tied to each of them, a certain costume and personality. After a great deal of research, this someone finally found the holy grail of weapons in this kind of world, something so seemingly innocuous yet secretly devastating.

Name Changer was the villain's new name, and in a way, the choice of that name itself was feeding the villain's freshly acquired magical powers. All Name Changer had to do was give anyone in the way a new name, and those people would find themselves changing to match.
