Edward Nigma smiled. This would be something new, even for him. Nigma looked at the parchment in his hand and ran a purple crystal around his fingers. The crystal was good for a return journey only. One trip to the
past and back. The Riddler had spent a considerable amount of time wondering what to do with this gift. Go back and kill the Batman when he knew him to be vulnerable? Win the lottery and vanish? None of these things really appealed to him. Recently the Riddler
had come to see the potential benefits in a protégée. Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl, even Joker and Harlequin to an extent. A younger version of themselves in many ways, who thought like and emulated their mentors.
The Riddler looked around the room, everything was ready for his return with his new protégée. He double checked his notebook, noting the date and place a new wonder kid mate their début, they paused on top of a building
for pictures, that was when he would make his move.
He pulled on his green overcoat and held the crystal aloft. Reading the words in the parchment, the Riddler noticed everything around him turning to a blinding white light, he shielded his eyes from the light. When
things faded back into view he opened his eyes. He was standing on a rooftop. Chuckling he took up position behind a fire escape door . “Now we play the waiting game”
