Brett sat down at his computer again and began tapping away on his keyboard. He was preparing an email to his Mistress, the Countess Rei and soon it was prepared, all that was needed to transfer the SWORD files and records of Amazing Woman to her greatest enemy was another tap from his finger.

However he saw the reflection of Martha laying defeated on the ground. A single tear swelled up in his eye as the realization of what he had just done finally broke through the subconscious control he was under.

His hand reached inside his desk and pulled out a knife. Martha had just managed to free herself of the handcuffs and looked into the room to see Brett gripping a knife with both hands and suddenly thrust it directly into his heart.

“BRETT!!!!!” Martha screamed with tears flowing down her face as she rushed into the room.

Martha yanked the knife out immediately and cradled her wounded sidekick in her arm. She pressed her gloved hand over the wound trying to apply pressure to stop the bleeding.

“I’m… I’m sorry Martha,” he cried. “I.. I had to stop myself… had to stop Rei… Please forgive me…”

Martha turned her head at the computer that was still waiting for a single click from the mouse to transmit all her secrets to her mysterious foe.

“I forgive you, just please don’t die on me,” wept Martha.

Brett smiled and closed his eyes as all life slipped away from him.
