Ethan Rhodes was a seventeen year old mutant whose powers only manifested within the last six months. Given that he was your average horny male, it was no surprise that when he discovered his particular mutant ability he used it to get laid. He had sex with cheerleaders and the valedictorian. Hot teachers too. The red headed principal as well. It never got old. He loved sex and he loved doing whenever and wherever he pleased. He was definitely abusing his power but he wasn't cruel. He never enslaved anyone and he made sure that every girl he screwed enjoyed it to the fullest. This lack of malice was part of the reason Professor Xavier invited the boy to his Institute, though the far greater one was that the Brotherhood was closing in on him. The Professor had little doubt what would happen should Magneto acquire the boy. No, protecting Ethan from Magneto and guiding him into responsible use of his power was far more important than the relative danger of bringing an untested mind controller onto school grounds. Besides, between himself, Jean, Emma, and Betsy; there were more than enough telepaths to keep the boy in check. So he had dispatched to X-Men to Colorado to extend the invitation. Xavier just hoped that the Brotherhood weren't as close as he suspected. Even a well-timed rescue would look like an abduction and that was the sort of publicity they needed to avoid in these troubling times.
