The Reality Gem can alter reality, which makes it extremely powerful and extremely dangerous. Potentially, it could do anything the other five stones could do. Which would mke one ask why you need the other stones. Answer, the stones enhance and focus the power of the Reality Gem. Without the Time and/or Space Gems to focus it, it could not do universal changes without a greater chance of doom for the user. Like death or worse. The Power Gems give mastery to this and the other stones.

 As in A Christmas Carol with Marley's Death, you must remember this for the rest to make sense.

 Peter wanted to use the gem on the safe scale to push this idea into reality, 'For all lonely superwomen who wish to be in a loving relationship to have one with me and each other. Also everyone accepts, respects and are glad for our relationship.'

 His idea was for himself and any other superheroine who were lonely to become a loving polyamorous romantic group and family. With each of them loving, helping and caring for each other. This was his intent but without the aid of the other gems there was a potential of glitches as the changes occurred at a safe solar system distance. Which is how when the change of reality occurred, it worked as Peter wanted but...
