Sue looked from Mephisto to Fisk. Hell Lord or Crime Lord? The part of her that was still tortured by guilt and shame hated both and was full of revulsion, but actually welcomed the thought of leaving this world behind.If her husband, family and friends were in a completely different dimension then she wouldn't have to confront the awful reality of what happened to her.The wicked part of her was full of delicious anticipation about the dark delights that the Lord of Lies could open up for her.
She spoke up. "Mephisto. I'll go with Mephisto, dammit!"
"Bwahahahahaaa!", the Hell Lord cackled with evil triumph, made a grand gesture with his arms, and he and Sue disappeared in a swirl of brimstone smelling smoke!
Sue found herself standing in a vast cavernous space, lit by red light from great flaming pits. In the center of this space was a huge carved throne. Around the edges of the dark room, demonic shapes bowed down before their evil master.
Mephisto took Sue's arm and led her to a large space in front of the throne. He waved his hand and a large, ornately carved mirror appeared. He led Sue to it and stood at her side as she looked at her reflection.
"This mirror has arcane properties, my dear. Look into its depths and it will show you the truth of your soul. The truth you try to hide in the darkest shadows. It will allow you to become what you always secretly hungered to be. Look. Look deep within yourself."
Sue looked, and watched as her own reflection faded and was replaced by...
