It was the dead of night in New York city, the sky dark and cloudy
as the moon peaked from behind the slow moving cloud cover. Yet just as the
city's nick name suggested the metrpolis was far from asleep, the near blinding
lights that lined the streets was overshadowed by the deafening honks from car
horns and thrtongs of pedestrians making their way through the streets.
Unseen by the people far below a light flickered high in the
sky, growing brighter and more colourful as it spread out like an opening in
the sky. A portal of raw energy was being torn open, willed into being by creature trying to force its way into this
universe. With a hiss something jumped out before the portal closed behind it.
Followed by the buzzing of diaphanous wings keeping it aloft and unseen up
above.
"Free... Safe, safe to rule..."
Annihilus had done it, the negative zone was collapsing on
itself, ready to end and jumpstart another big bang all over again. Something
the insectoid ruler knew he could not survive. With all the power of his cosmic rod
he managed to pry a hole into the milky way galaxy before his world ended
behind him. Looking down at the lights and noises from the city below Annihilus
stared with glossy eyes before bringing his rod up for him to observe, its powers
were nearly spent but it could still keep him alive, had he the ability to
smile he would be grinning from ear to ear.
"New world to rule, start over, must find potential
queen."
The cosmic rod in his chitin armored hands glowed as he used
it to find the one he was looking for, buzzing and hissing at his device he
began his search to start a new hive on Earth.
