"Well Susan" Began Dr. Violet, leaning back in his chair "It obviously must be difficult for your self-esteem, being married to someone who is generally believed to be the smartest man on Earth."
Susan nodded at this and Reed glanced at her, seeming actually surprised by that.
"And on top of that you're usually seen as the weakest member of the Fantastic Four, isn't that correct?"
She nodded again, this all struck true with her. Her power, relying so much on the unseen, didn't make good fodder for the media. As a result she was often branded the token woman of the group and seen as a typical blonde airhead who lets the men do all
the hard work.
"The answer really is obvious. You want to dominate your husband, get payback for all the times you've looked like nothing in comparison."
For a second Reed wanted to object but he didn't. Dr. Violet is always right, he thought to himself, and I really should try and see this from Susans perspective.
Susan once again nodded along but this time there was a hard edge in her expression and a glint in her eye.
"So" Said the good doctor, a broad, toothy grin on his face "Are we in agreement?"
