"Uh-huh, baby," Scarlet Claw replied as she ran a finger down the Melder's chin. "But I have all the tech knowledge of Lady Octopus and all of Black Kitty's thieving skills and even all of MJ's acting chops, so I'm betting good ol' melded you will still
know everything about the device."
"But I -- nnnnn!" His voice was cut-off as Scarlet Claw squeezed his lips.
"Trust me, sweets, you'll LOVE the new you."

"So what's the score?" Scorpia asked as she slunk into the warehouse. "Lady Ock? You there? You said you had some work for me."
"Yes, Elaine, dear. You're so cute and sassy, you're TOTALLY the girl I want on my side."
"What?"
There was a whimper and suddenly the Melder landed beside Scopria.
"What the fuck's going on?" the villainess asked as her tail whipped back and forth.
"Say 'cheese,'" grinned Scarlet Claw as she fired the melding gun.

"So what is it, Hank?" Cyclops asked.
The Beast looked at all the gathered X-Men. Cyclops, Storm, Emma Frost, the other leaders of the team.
"I wanted to talk to all of you before I talked to Jan," Beast said. "It's a very complicated situation."
"Can you put them back together?" Cyclops asked.
"I don't think so," Beast said. "And even if I could, there are serious ethical ramifications."
"What do you mean?"
"The melded character, 'Jan Logan Howlett,' is her own self and she's happy with who she is. Taking her apart -- well, it would--"
"Yes?"
"It would be like murdering her."
