With a hiss, one of Scarlet Claw's claws shot from her wrist, attached to a long grappler, and it wrapped around the Melder's leg.
"Wha-" he began in shock.
"Come here, boy."
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
"For what? Transforming me?" the Scarlet Claw laughed. "This is great! I'm beautiful, brilliant, and oh-so agile. This is terrific! No, I simply want to keep all my assets close. Come with me, we're heading back to Lady Octopus' base where I figure out what
my next step will be."
She smiled as she headed off with the Melder literally in tow. Whatever Scarlet Claw's plan would be, she knew she wanted Spider-Man as her little boytoy. Yes, how delicious.

Jan Logan paced back and forth in the waiting room, puffing nervously on her cigar. She was still waiting for Hank to get back with his medical report. This was frustrating. She was happy with who she was, but knew that everyone was looking at her strangely.
Especially those people she actually cared about: Kitty, Ororo, Jubilee, dear sweet Scott.
This was so frustrating.
"Um... Jan?"
She turned as Hank entered.
"Yes, what is it?" she asked, trying not to look as nervous as she felt.
