Angry at her carelessness, Wonder Woman was now stranded on the base. "Maybe I can scavenge a radio at the base," said Wonder Woman. Leaving her jet, Wonder Woman trotted back to the base, hoping to find something that will allow her to communicate with
the military or perhaps some answers as to what was going on.
"Hera, it must be over 110 degrees out here," exclaimed Wonder Woman as she headed towards the base. When she reached the base, her body was completely covered in sweat. Her bustier and star spangled shorts completely soaked in her perspiration. Wonder Woman
wiped the sweat from her brow and looked around the base and noticed computers and communication equipment completely destroyed at a nearby table. The amazon looked closer hoping to find some clues, "Odd, no sign of any struggle in the area. No bullet holes
or anything," said Wonder Woman.
Looking at the ground, she noticed numerous footprints leading towards a nearby canyon. "I wonder if these footprints will lead me to the missing soldiers and scientist," said Wonder Woman. The amazon followed the trail into the canyon, being mindful of her
surroundings. "I can easily be ambushed since I have the low ground, I should be careful of any attack from above," thought Wonder Woman. As the amazon followed the trail, she felt she was watched. Looking up, she saw a human figure lurking above her.
Wonder Woman quickly reached for her lasso and tossed her lasso at the lurking figure when she felt something grab her leg. "What the..." gasped Wonder Woman as she felt a strong grip grab her ankle and yank her down to the ground.
Wonder Woman dropped to the ground and saw large deformed muscular hand coming out of a nearby hole in the canyon wall. Wonder Woman tried to pull away but she was unable to push back due to the soft dessert sand floor. The large powerful hand pulled her
right leg into into the hole. She felt the large powerful hands grope long thigh, summoning all her strength, she used her left leg and pushed back against the canyon wall, breaking free of the thing's grip. However her red boot was lost. "What the devil
was that thing?!?" panted Wonder Woman. Looking down at her right leg, she noticed deep scratch marks from whatever that grabbed her. "Damn it, lost my boot," sighed Wonder Woman. Wonder Wonder took off her other boot and picked her lasso from the ground.
"I better be more careful," said Wonder Woman.
Looking up ahead, Wonder Woman noticed a cave.
