Caitlin Fairchild stood at the communications console of the war-room of the Kingdom of Gen, head bowed as tears flowed from her eyes. She had not cried when the opening shots of the war had killed her mother bravely flying a starfighter with the fleet. Nor when the war had finally reached the capital world and her father King Alexander had been killed in battle repulsing the first X-alt strike against the Royal Palace. Caitlin made not a sound as she cried, her shoulder-length red hair falling around her face preventing the royal advisors of the Royal Guard of Gen-13 gathered round her from seeing her tears.

“The remains of the fleet know we’ve surrendered,” Roxy quietly reported. Princess Fairchild gave no sign she’d heard. Also known as Freefall the gravity-manipulator with the pink-bangs in front of her pixieish black hair looked away, blinking back her own tears.

“The armies of the thirteen worlds report all troops still in contact are aware of the surrender.” Lynch had been the royal tutor, but at the start of the war he had revealed his past life as a warrior and leader of warriors. The lessons he had taught had become priceless when Princess Fairchild was forced to become commander after the death of her parents. But Caitlin’s formidable intelligence meant she had finally surpassed him in strategic and tactical insight. Not that it had been enough to win the war.

“The Thirteen Worlds have surrendered,” Caitlin spoke the words. She had surrendered them. She had issued the orders and informed the enemy.

The thirteen worlds of the Gen system, ruled from the thirteenth garden world, had thought themselves safe from the Empire of Marvels. Like the other Wildstorm Worlds they contained men, and the lesbians of the Empire had never before invaded a realm in which heterosexuality was the norm. Apart from tutor Lynch two of Caitlin’s four remaining Gen-13 guard were men - Grunge was heavily-muscled with the power to take the characteristics of any object he touched, and Burnout with his a slender build and blond hair could generate plasma and manipulate flames. They along with Freefall and Rainmaker and Princess Fairchild had stood against the Empire’s X-alts. And been defeated.

“The psy-shield is deactivating. Caitlin, these could be our last moments as ourselves. Before the Empire…”

Princess Caitlin’s chief advisor and closest confidant Sarah Rainmaker laid a hand gently on Caitlin’s shoulder. Rainmaker was bisexual. After the war had begun lesbians and bisexual women had been treated with suspicion, and though Princess Fairchild had meted out furious punishments there had been incidents. Rainmaker loved the princess truly and deeply, not just as a ruler or friend but as a woman. It hurt Caitlin a little, and Rainmaker so much more, that her love was not returned. For now, as her tears dried, Caitlin just needed her quiet company.

“Before the Empire…,” Rainmaker tried again, but the words wouldn’t come.

“Before the Empire changes our thoughts.” Princess Fairchild grimy completed her advisor’s warning. The tears had dried up.

The Kingdom of Gen had not been completely unprepared, alliances had been made and defenses prepared in secret. But allies had not come. Oh, a handful of powerful powered individuals like Apollo and Midnighter had come, but no fleets armies had arrived. And the secret defenses had been insufficient. The psy-shield that defended the palace was one such and had never been tested. The Empire had sent no telepaths against the smaller Kingdom. Instead superior numbers of ships and soldiers and X-alts had done the work. And though Princess Fairchild had been forged into a military genius in the crucible of war, the Empire’s War Consort had proven her equal in talent and superior in experience.

“Come on, get it up, Grunge!” Roxy hissed whisper wasn’t intended to carry.

Princess Fairchild glanced at her and then looked quickly away from Grunge and Roxy, not begrudging them the moment. Roxy had Grunge’s cock in her hand, trying to make it stiff with an urgent handjob despite the unamorous circumstances. No-one in the royal council was sure what would happen Grunge and the other men. The terms of surrender simply stated they would be unharmed in body and be made subjects of the White Queen. The terms of surrender also made it clear that their minds were free to be changed at the whim of telepaths, like every other person in the surrendered Kingdom.

“I love you, Grunge.”

Roxy swallowed whatever reply Grunge might have planned to make with a desperate kiss as she pulled down the trousers of her royal guard uniform and pushed her pussy onto her lover’s half-stiff dick. Whatever the fate of Grunge her own was clear. This would be the last time Roxy would fuck a man. The White Queen or her consorts would come and and add Freefall to the ranks of the Empire’s X-alts. Or perhaps even the White Queen’s harem. Whichever fate awaited her she would soon be a lesbian nymphomaniac, eager to serve the Queen she had fought against.

“I love you, Caitlin.” Rainmaker pulled at Caitlin’s shoulder and the princess allowed herself be turned to look her most trusted advisor in the eyes. Rainmaker’s fingers carefully brushed the tears from Caitlin’s face. “I know you don’t love me the same way, but... Here. Now. I need to tell you how I feel. At the last, before…”

‘Before.’ This time Caitlin did not finish her advisors thought. To speak the inevitable conclusion would only hurt her friends. The psy-shield would take time to depower, a deliberate part of the design so that a single traitor or psychically dominated victim could not expose the whole palace and high command to telepathic control. But when it was gone the White Queen would be free to take the chief prize for which the war had been fought. Princess Caitlin Fairchild’s mind would be taken and her body would follow. She wished the arrival of her powers of super-strength, durability and agility had never transformed her from a gangly teen into a voluptuous women the White Queen desired.

“I love you, Rainmaker. Not how you wish I did, but I love you too.” Caitlin took a deep breath. “Now, I need you to remain strong. We must announce the surrender to more than just the military. Signal the enem-- I mean the occupation force, for permission to make an all worlds broadcast.”

Princess Fairchild wiped her face of tears and stood proud and free and straight.
