The temple, once hidden in the heart of a sprawling, modern city, now held a place of prominence inside a medieval village.  The streets were lit not with electric lamps, but with glowing crystal torches.  Skyscrapers had been replaced by roofs with tatched huts, surrounded by the walls of a vast stone fortress.  The air was clear, free of all save birds and clouds.

In another circumstance, the man would have found it idyllic.  But now...

"What... what happened?  This isn't what I wanted!  I just wanted to bring her back to life!" the man cried.

"Necromancy is forbidden," proclaimed a voice.  "But while I admit that many of us have come back to life, sirrah, Lady Morgan forbids the practice of such magic."  The man turned, and saw something that frightened him.

It looked like Harley Quinn, one of the Green Lanterns, Hawkeye, and Spider-Man.  But different somehow.  The Lantern wore medieval armor, while Hawkeye and Harley were on horseback.  Harley was clad in a medieval jester's outfit in her usual colors, a theatrical mask over her face instead of her usual makeup.  Hawkeye himself looked like a purple Robin Hood, while Spider-Man's costume resembled that of a classical bandit, a cloak and hood adorning him, along with a domino mask.

"What... what's going on?"

"What's going on, knave, is that you are trespassing on Queen Morgan LeFay's sacred grounds," the Green Lantern said.  "And I, Sir Hal of the Order of the Emerald Light, will not allow you to corrupt it any further!"

"Alas, Sir Hal of the Stick up his Ass Order seems to neglect his comrades again, eh Spider-Rogue?" Hawkeye said.

Spider-Man (or rather, Spider-Rogue), cackled.  "Indeed, noble Longbow.  It seems that we two and fair Harlequin must act without his acknowledgement yet again."

Harlequin didn't bother with the banter, she just laughed, spurring her horse on and charging the man.  She withdrew a large mace with a clown's head, striking the man and sending him flying.

"After him!" Sir Hal said, the man picking himself up and running for his life.
