A few days passed and Timothy returned his family’s old house in the Brownstone downtown area where stepped through the secret entrance to the “Wonder Den” for what he expected to be the last time.

Timothy placed the Wonderboy costume next to one of the costumes of Max Wonder that hanged on the wall.

“Goodbye Wonderboy. Goodbye Max Wonder. Goodbye father. Goodbye SuSu.” Timothy said to himself with a heavy heart a short time later after closing up the secret entrance.

“So that’s it then, you’re just going to give up?” a voice asked.

Surprised Timothy jerked his head around to see SuSu’s personal maid Suzette standing in the living room. The young woman with blonde curly short hair was dressed in her full maid French attire, which consisted of a short black dress with a white trim with a ruffled white apron tied around her back with a bow. She wore maid’s hat and wore a black and white choker around her neck. She wore seven-inch high heels and her long legs were clad in fishnet stockings.

“Suzette,” asked Wonderboy as he walked over to her. “What are you doing here? Did SuSu send for you to retrieve me? I’ve missed her so much, I would –“

The young maid silenced him by placing a finger over his lips.

“I’m afraid not,” she said sadly. “Countess SuSu left for Japan last night. She wanted me to say goodbye for her.”

“She blames me doesn’t she,” said Timothy stepping back.

“No, she blames only herself,” said Suzette. “SuSu couldn’t bear to see you again, not because she hates you, but because she loves you. She feels very confused and needs to make peace with herself. She knows you want to be there for her, but you can’t.”

“Tell her, I’ll wait for her,” said Timothy.

“She knew you’d say that,” said Suzette, “But she can’t promise to return to you, so her final request is that you don’t devote your heart to just her and instead just happiness even if it’s in the arms of another. She said once you become established as Wonderboy, you’ll no doubt have plenty of opportunities.”

“SuSu told you what I did as Wonderboy,” gasped Timothy. “That was supposed to have been a secret.”

Suzette giggled and said, “I saw the internet video like everyone else, and I was the one who sowed together your costume.”

“Yeah, that’s right…” Timothy blushed. He then smiled, but rather sadly added, “Well anyway, I think Wonderboy is done. I plan to seal up the secret entrance this time for good.”

“A shame,” said Suzette, “But it is your choice and your right to quit. But Metro City could use a hero.”

“Well it’s got that Amazing Woman I suppose,” said Timothy.

“Oh? Would Amazing Woman have been there for that stripper,” asked Suzette.

“Well no,” shrugged Timothy. “But- I don’t think I can live up to the ghost of my father.”

“Then don’t,” said Suzette, “Just be the best Wonderboy that you can be.”

“Thanks Suzette,” said Timothy. “When you get to Japan, will you tell SuSu that I love her.”

“SuSu knew that you’d say that too,” said Suzette.

“Please don’t give me another ‘Dear John’ message from her,” said Timothy “The first one broke my heart.”

Suzette took another step closer and surprised Timothy with a kiss on the lips. He was shocked at first, but before he could kiss back, Suzette pulled herself away smiling.

“That was from SuSu,” Suzette declared.

Slightly bewildered Timothy blushed feeling a bulge in his blue jeans forming. “Thanks for delivering the message ”

Suzette smiled before turning and walked towards the door. “You’re welcome… Wonderboy.”

The sun was warm against her skin as Amazing Woman stood alone on a rooftop as she looked down at the busy street below. Bret was gone only a few days now and she missed him already. She even missed Black Tiger, whom she hadn’t seen since that night Rei was taken down.

The costumed heroine was now on a stakeout surviving the building across the street. She peered through a pair of high-def video-recording binoculars and saw the moment she been waiting for a payoff between a crooked judge and one of the city’s drug dealers who recently had his case dismissed.

“Hey Big A! Do we have enough now to swing over and crack some heads,” chirped a young bubbly voice over the small SWORD radio attached to her belt. It was the voice of the eager to impress new recruit Jenny Powers, who was given to her by SWORD.

Martha picked up her radio and said to her new sidekick in training, “I believe we have enough, follow my lead as we planned in twenty seconds. Oh and for the record Pink Maiden, don’t you ever call me Big A ever again!”
