“Oh Great Hera,” the interloper called, “Queen of Olympus please allow another perspective.”
“What do you want Barbarian Trickster?” Hera shouted.
The goddesses gasped and sneered at the visage of Loki .
“I wish to point out the bigger picture,” Loki smiled, then his face dissolved into the scene unfolding in the Batcave, “Observe…”
Zatanna was surprised to see Bruce only half in his bat gear and Diana was in normal clothing instead of her star spangled lingerie. All but the main screens were interconnecting clusters of labeled points on a global map that was revolving around and around.
“What did you need me to look at?” Zatanna asked.
“Australia, Case number PY2003-873521,” Bruce pointed to his right, “It’s a touch screen.”
“Let’s see,” Zatanna tapped the screen “Pre-Islamic north African Theurgy binding spell. The subject reads it aloud and signs it in blood. The lords of magic make the subject the slave of the Demon Head.”
“So the league is all under a mind control spell?” Diana was confused.
“No,” Zatanna said, “This has no real power. I’m surprised you couldn’t read it Bruce.”
“The script was easy to translate,” Bruce sighed, “Making sense of it was harder.”
“When you said it looked like the Question’s place,” Zatanna looked around, “I was expecting moldy orange chicken lying about.”
“Alfred doesn’t allow take out in the cave,” Bruce said deadpan.
Zatanna felt proud of her self. She wandered back to see all of the map. There was something in the map, and it was in a langue that she felt she knew.
“ULTi-re’at Nolexki Feratnai, Bhluedut Ni Aba-luk…” Zatanna went slack jawed and glassy eyed.
Loki intoned “She is saying ‘I am the slave of Bruce Wayne’ backwards in the primal langue of the Ancient Gods. She has bound herself to the mortal and he remains blameless. Not even you would be able to see any sort of trap in that chaos he has erected
for display. But now he is using these players to aid the Amazons in a defense from an attack by the League of Shadows and Assassins.”
A message alert flashed on the primary screen Bruce was working at.
“Diana contact your mother tell her that she has twenty minutes before the Ghul’s forces conduct an air strike on Themyscira,” Bruce announced, “Zatanna cast a spell to have the labels on the weapons to be used partial reappear for the Amazons to find later.
That will get them pissed at Luther as well. Prick deserves to have his ass handed to him.”
“The princess alerts her mother to the coming attack while the mage uses her power to reveal the origins of the weapons and attackers to the Amazons. The Amazons will bring retribution against the League in public and will sabotage the very foundations
of the corrupt Lexcorp. Luther will bring his allies against the Amazons and the Heroes will rally in support of the Amazons. Women will sing praises to you goddesses, honor and glory will be won by your mortal warriors, the forces of evil will be spent,
and all the while the Bat will become even stronger since everyone else will be weakening themselves. Athena you must see he is very cunning and wise in war. Artemis you must see that he has made a grand hunt for your Amazonian cult to chase and slaughter.
Aphrodite has already seen that his is a true lover, one that ensures the women that share passion with him share pleasure. Hestia for a goddess of home and hearth you are blind to his actions; actions that build himself a home, they bring ruin to his enemies
without threatening his home, city or family. Hera do you not see, he is not taking the place of the gods but he creates very good propaganda for you Olympians.”
The Goddess sat speechless and helpless as Loki’s projection of himself dissolved in manic laughter.
