Kara sighed as she stepped out of the shower in her apartment, a towel wrapped around her generous bust as she bundled her hair in a smaller one to help dry faster. She felt dirty after being dusted by that stature in the park, whatever it was it stuck to her skin and cloths like the time she was shot at that bank robbery last week, the bullets never pierced her but the gunpowder stains took FOREVER to clean out.

Still she worried.

When she switched cloths and went back home she felt oddly tense, like she was agitated over something, not only that but her cat freaked as soon as she stepped inside, his tail going fluffy before he ran to hide under the couch. He was still there, growling at Kara like she was a stranger.

"Oh come on Mr. Stinky it's not like I haven't come home with something on me."

Huffing in annoyance she leaned against her kitchen counter with her arms crossed just as her phone rang. Lifting the receiver asked who it was and narrowed her eyes at the voice on the other end.

"Power Girl, it's me Batman. I've been studying the statue Klarion threw at us." Kara rolled her eyes, she didn't know are cared to know how Batman got her number, she had enough headaches tonight as it was. "It's an idol to Tiamat the queen of dragons, more specifically 'evil' dragons."

"Evil dragons huh? Any idea why he was fiddling with the thing?"

"I don't practice magic, don't trust the stuff, I trust Klarion even less, whatever he's got planned it involved that statue and---"

Kara gasped as she seized up, her muscles feeling tense as they spasm out of her control, dropping her phone she heard Batman gasp and cry out from his end as Power Girl staggered and doubled over to lean against her wall as her body froze and wrack with pain. She nearly screamed as she felt her skin creep. Looking down at her bare arm she gasped as her smooth skin was being replaced with scales, glistening golden scales that started creeping up her hand and up her arm to the shoulder. The same scales were sprouting on her feet as it nearly covered her arms and legs.

"Wha-what's going on?!"

Getting up she fell to the floor as she heard her bones twist and snap, looking down she gasped and screamed as she witness her five wiggling toes grow longer and clawed, the toes spreading out as her heal changed. Curling up into a fetal position she could feel the same thing happen to her hands as her fingers grew thicker, sporting black talons where her finger nails used to be. Dropping the towel as she got herself up her muscles throbbed under her scaly skin as she began to bulk up, growing visibly stronger as her arms and legs grew thicker. By now the scales covered her entire body as the changes slowed and the pain ebbed away.

Panting from exhaustion she pressed against the wall leaning her head against the doorframe to catch her breath, just as her cat meowed at her and ran for her bedroom to hide.
