It was a thing that shouldn't exist. It was an unholy fusion of eldritch magics. It was the zipper. Seemingly harmless, the object resembled a completely normal metal zipper. On the rear side was a thin strip of slightly adhesive material which made it stick to things. But while the appearance of the zipper was plain, its power was not. Once affixed to a living being, the zipper's controller could tug it open, making the creature "unzip" like it was a costume. Underneath would be found whatever the zipper's master desired. By this means they could for example unzip a man to reveal a beautiful woman, unzip a woman to reveal a man, or unzip a human to reveal a monster or animal. This might not have been such a bad thing, had the zipper not gone astray. Whoever or whatever created it was long forgotten. All tht was known was that it had now fallen into the hands of a very amoral person, who was more than willing to use it on the superheroes of their world in order to change them. That world was...
