The young teen had built the device after look up weird inventions and tech on the internet, as something of a hobby. There he found out about the Hate-Monger, a villain who had scientists create a Hate Ray, or H Ray, generator. The device was basically
a specialized high-frequency microwave emitter which affected the parts of the brain for emotion. Causing Anger, Fear and Dread... but especially Hate. Even having the power to turn any love the subject had for anything into an equal amount of hate.
The eighteen year old, Derrick Flint, had used the schematics which one of the scientist had posted on the net and were able to adjust them to effect different aspects of the same areas. Instead of causing, Hate, Fear and Anger. He could make more... interesting
emotions. Love, Lust, Desire, Compassion. Or as he called it, the Love or L Ray.
Testing various designs on rats and other animals, as well as trying other forms then a pistol which could get him in trouble given the climate on guns, he was able to create a projector which looked like a harmless penlight. Then he tested it out in his school...
which ended with Cheerleaders dating Nerds, Goths dating Jocks and other weird love connections. Including his dating of the sexiest young woman in school... plus an affair with the hottest teacher... and a few others. He also learned when he used the device,
people affected were very easy to manipulate.
Deciding on a few fun ideas, he tried to decide on one. Like making a hot heroine fall for him, love and/or lust. Or do the same with a hot villainess. Or more then one of the above.
He also liked the idea of playing games with the hearts of people, especially powerful people like celebrities, superhumans, community leaders and so on.
There were also other fun things he could do with this...
