Eros was a being of Chaos and therefore had been friends with certain members of the more random aspects of the universe, like Tyche the Greek Goddess of Luck. For an exchange of favours, she had granted Peter a bit of luck, good and bad.

 For Peter was going to meet with a villainess at random, which would be bad luck in Peter's opinion but good luck for Eros' mission.

 Peter responded to distress called where the villainess had been causing trouble. Eros smiled as he sighted the source of the trouble which was or who was....
