A black car pulled into one side of the alley in which Maria waited for Carol Danvers. She turned to see that a similar car was blocking the other side.
She’d thought she was well hidden. This was a strategic mistake.
She could climb a fire escape and get some high ground. The only problem was that she would be vulnerable to gunshots. No her best option was simply to lock the car doors and close the windows. The car was shield issue; bullet proof, and equipped with air
purifiers. It could serve as a panic room until Ms. Marvel arrives.
The unmarked cars began to unload some equipment from there trunks.
Men who looked more like lab technicians than thugs began to set up something that resembled a sound system. They themselves wore headphones; probably noise blockers
Maybe they were trying to force her out with loud noise. She’d heard of such methods being considered as a form of crowd control against protestors. Even sleep deprivation at Guantanamo was accomplished simply by playing music at late hours. Agent Hill went
through her glove compartment and found a pair of earplugs, surely they didn’t think this was going to work.
After a while she was starting to wonder when they would turn on their equipment when she noticed a light on one of the amplifiers. The equipment had been running for a few minutes already. Maria became nervous wondering what this meant.
She waited a few minutes more wondering when Carol would arrive. Then she noticed the clock on her radio. She hadn’t waited a few minutes she had only waited a few seconds. She watched the clock carefully and counted to fifty before another second passed.
What was this? She counted again, this time reaching 82 before a single second passed.
Up in the sky she saw someone flying towards her. It was Ms Marvel, but she was flying so slowly.
A loud speaker came on. “Ms. Marvel. Your ally, Maria Hill, is currently in an altered state of consciousness. Pulling her out too quickly will cause brain damage.
