Bruce Wayne was the wealthiest man in New Gothamtown, the small town which had grown up around the ruins of Gotham City. Out of the way of shattered buildings, most safe but some with radioactivy from the Bombs which had hit it.
Bruce had just returned to this town from his journey around the Gotham Wastelands. Years ago, his parents had been killed by the Arkham Raiders. His father had run a clinic which had healed the sick for a price. Mostly with the new currency of bottle caps,
but also with what could be collected in the ruins of the city.
The lawless Raiders had hunted Thomas Wayne and his wife Martha as they traveled with Bruce to treat those in nearby communities and homes, without the protection of New Gothamtown's metal walls. The raiders had tortured and killed the Waynes before their
son, then decided they could get more caps by selling Bruce to slavers. where he remained till he was saved by Jarvis Pennyworth and his son Alfred. They raised him, taught him everything they knew of survival and helped him access even more through the text
of the lost civilization which came before.
As a twenty year old man, Bruce Wayne was now the rich man in NGT. An eccentric who funded or supplied much needed projects like the medical clinic or water treatment plant or food scavenging teams.
But secretly, his rage at the Raiders, Slavers and other lawless humans of the ruins of humanity had transformed him. He had taken it upon himself to bring order to the chaos of the destroyed world, even if it was destined for worse with coming asteroid. He
had dressed him the armor made from the leather of a mutated Camo-Bat. He was the terror, he was the night, he was the Batman!
