A new superheroine in town is captured

Cleo

I've been a reporter for more years than I care to remember, and even though my beat covers crime in the city, the job has become dull and routine. That is until last night. "All available units converge on the Main Street Bank. We have a possible hostage situation." As soon as those words came over the radio I responded.

By the time I arrived, police cars had already surrounded the Bank, keeping people away from the area, and the Captain was on the bull horn asking the robbers to surrender. There was no reply. "What's happening, Captain?"

"Not now John, I can't tell you anything." He busied himself looking at the floor plans, and setting up communications, so I went to Sargent Hayes.

"Hey Bill, what's the situation inside?" Bill Hayes had been with the department for nearly twenty years, and is a good friend. We spend a lot of time at Hardesty's Bar reminiscing about the good old days when his wife Mabel was alive, and I was still married.

"It seems two men intended to rob the Bank, but things went sour when the security guard sounded the alarm. When the first squad car appeared on the scene, they were forced to remain inside."

"How many hostages?" I asked while taking notes.

"Don't know yet. The Captain's attempting to talk to the perps now." Bill left my side to help with the negotiations.

During my long career with the Times, I'd covered several hostage situations, and in spite of what you see in the movies, these things almost always end in tragedy. Right then the swat team arrived, led by Phil Carpenter. They conferred briefly with the Captain, before taking strategic positions near the bank entrances. Looking ominous in their black uniforms, wearing flack jackets, helmets, and carrying various weapons, they gave an additional air of seriousness to an already serious scene. I noticed one of the team members with a long rifle entering the Hotel across from the Bank. He was apparently the sniper.

Suddenly the front door of the Bank opened. A man dressed as a security guard exited, then slowly crossed the street, but when he reached the halfway point a shot rang out, and the man slumped to the ground. "What the hell happened?" I touched Sargent Hayes' shoulder, drawing him to the side.

"They want a van, and threatened to kill one hostage every hour until it arrived. To show that they're serious, the guard was killed." Stunned by the vicious killing, the Sargent returned to the command group, who were discussing their options.

Fifty minutes passed until the van pulled up to the Bank. Two men then staggered through the Bank's doorway, and were thrust onto the ground, unconscious. "Captain, I don't think these two will be needing the van." Standing in the doorway was the vision of loveliness known as Cleo. She was six feet tall, with long blonde curls, wearing a black leotard. Her long shapely fishnet covered legs were enhanced by black high heel shoes. However, the vision lasted for only a moment before she disappeared inside the Bank.

I remembered the first time she appeared in town. It occurred during another robbery nearly a year ago. That time the robbers were escaping with the loot, and the police were in hot pursuit. I watched the whole thing from a helicopter, as the fleeing crooks bounced off vehicles while racing along highway 66. It was a weird scene that quickly became weirder. A black Hummer raced up one of the on-ramps to join the chase. It ran along side of the crook's car, forcing it off the road, into a clump of trees. The black Hummer followed them into the woods, where it trapped the red sedan against one of the trees. Seeing the collision, all of the police cars pulled to the side of the highway, and the policemen raced into the woods in an attempt at keeping the robbers from fleeing on foot. As I hovered high above the scene, I was startled to observe a lovely golden haired woman dressed in black, exit the Hummer, and subdue the criminals, and then before the police arrived she fled off in the Hummer. I decided it was essential for me to find that woman.

A year later standing in front of the Bank, and seeing her lovely shape in the doorway, I was still no closer to finding out who she was. However, after several encounters, I had become familiar with her modis operandi, so I raced behind the Bank, and looked up at the roofs. Sure enough the woman in black jumped from the top of the Bank building to the office building across the street. So I raced to the parking lot in the rear of the office building, and hid behind the black Hummer. While waiting for the mysterious woman I had fallen in love with, I removed a bottle from my camera bag, and soaked a cloth with its contents.

Meantime Cleo climbed down the outside wall of the office building. Her long shapely legs wrapped around a heavy rope, dangling from the roof nearly to the ground. Those strong athletic arms easily lowered her curvacious body slowly down the rope. The gorgeous blond jumped from the end of the rope to the hard concrete surface below; Her shoes making a clicking sound when she landed.

I almost lost control as I watched the scene, wishing that those long, lithe, legs were wrapped around me instead of a length of rope. Her heels clicked in rhythm to her swinging hips, as she crossed the lot. I nearly lost my concentration. She reached the driver's side door, unlocked it, and turned her back towards me. That's when I sprang into action. My arm wrapped around her thin waist, pinning her arms to her sides. I thrust the cold damp, chloroform soaked rag over her nose and mouth. She gasped with surprise, inhaling a large dose of the drug. Pressing the cloth against her beautiful face, I also pressed the magnificent torso against my body, causing me to lose it for a moment. It was stimulating, to feel her wriggle in my arms. Since I had lowered her, she was slightly bent at the waist, and unable to kick her luscious limbs at me. It only took a moment until her muffled shouts into the cloth stopped, and I could feel the captivating beauty relax.

When I whispered in her ear. "Breathe deep, it's almost over." Her body tensed for only a moment, and then slowly fell limp in my arms. The alluring blonde head fell forward, as I let the cloth slip away. Her athletic arms dangled loosely in my grip, so I let the beauty dressed in black slide to the ground. After tying her wrists behind her, I bound those lovely fishnet covered ankles together. She fit comfortably on the passenger side, as I wrapped a rope around her waist, securing her to the seat. Fortunately, the heavily tinted windows prevented anyone from seeing the helpless heroine as I then drove away with my prize.
