I am laying out a basic plan, it is suppose to be a work in progress, so if you
give me any advice, thoughts, or other items. Please e-mail me about
what you think. There are a few more ideas that I would like to try,
particularly after some of the comments such as the Ding concept for stories.
Comments can be sent to me at
SuperStories@gmail.com or put up at
http://www.superstories.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=29 on the message
board.
All stories will be readded, to make things organized with the new systems
organized, and arranged. It will take some time to do this and reprogram
the new setting. While doing this, I could try and keep up reprogramming
and readding stories. But it is a matter of sticking the finger in the
dike while at the same time building a boat. I will not be adding stories
until I get the new system done, which should be done before December 1st (I
hope)
I am wondering how many people would object to Google ads along the left hand
side and if there would be any objects with the money funneled back into
equipment and etc.
In order to make this more of a community, registration will be required.
E-mails are NOT required. It is not to sell it or spam it. Only a
username and password are required to register.
Stories will be up for one month in a public area, for anyone to access.
For those that want to access past stories, they would have to register
I am changing my idea, I am thinking the web server will have priority to
those who register, but those who do not register can still view all stories.
There will be no fee for registration.
(I am thinking of requiring an e-mail to register, to do activation and
avoid troublemakers, but wondering what others think)
- Be nice and respectful of people
- There should be no income from the site, any and all money will be put
back into the web site
- Authors will not be paid for any stories, (but if there are contests it
will be handled differently)
- There is no promise of instant actions. Updates are planned every
weekend, but there are no promises.
- The stories are yours or you have permission to post them.
- While stories can be appealed for rating, SuperStories has the final say
- The stories remain the property of the author(s), but SuperStories has
the write to display/archive them
Any other ideas?
Information will be tracked, but only to prevent hacking, DNS attacks, and
causing problems. If someone is causing problems, I can use the logs to
find by IP address, but will not be doing cookie spying and other nasty tricks.
Stories would be submitted online, rather then e-mailing it to me and waiting
for me to post on the weekend. This may get things going faster and better
as the author will be able to to put down a summery, details, and other things
I plan on stories being reorganized with the following items
Violence Levels
0 - Not classified |
1 - Minor or Superfriends's level
2 - Some minor violence, but not very bloody (TV wrestling)
3 - Realistic but not extreme ( action movie and/or physical rape)
4 - Hardcore violence (level of snuff or extreme mutilation)
Sexual Levels
0 - Not classified |
1 - Minor Kissing
2 - Romantic and some sexual hints
3 - Sexual encounters, mind control rape
4 - Hard physical rape, extreme sexual encounter
Plot Levels
0 - Not classified |
1 - Fast Scene
2 - Some Characterization
3 - Complex Characterization
4 - Deep character building
Stories would be able to have the following classifications where it is a
major point:
- Beta - Author request help editing, polishing and improving the story
- Bondage
- Breast Enlargement
- DC Characters
- Female/Female
- Humor
- Incomplete Stories
- Male/Female
- Male/Male
- Marvel Characters
- Mind Control
- Misc Characters (Wildstorm, Image, Darkhorse)
- Monster/Tentacle
- Non-English Story
- Original Characters
- Pregnancy
- Rape
- Romance
- Saturday morning cartoons
- Secret Identity
- She-Males
- Stories with Images
- Transformation
- Transgender
An idea is also to create lists of when an item happens (such as mind
control) in a comic book, have a list.
This will provide a list of characters who play a major part in the story (
more then just in the background or a few lines of dialog. If the
character is an original character, they must be in several (3?) stories.
I plan on also having a short bio of characters, particularly origional ones.
Registered users would be able to help out with a story, they can add
classification, help create list of characters, and various other items. I
am also hoping to have features such as Reader's picks, and a few other things.
For the site, I can not host all the stories, so to put it on I am having to
do some qualifying items. Some may think it is censorship, but I am
doing it for a limit of what I can do.
- Superhero rated stories
- The stories are superhero stories, such as Marvel Superheroes, DC
Superheroes, and others such as Buffy, Power Rangers, and Xena
- No objections from the author
- If an author objects to it being posted, or someone claims credit
for a story that is not there, or some other issue. If there are
multiple authors or other issues, I will make a case by case decision.
- Story must be long enough
- For a story to be on, it needs to be of sufficient length. I
am not sure about the amount, but if it is half a paragraph, a dribble,
or just the beginning. I am not asking for a full novel, but the
story has to be more then three paragraphs.
- Story must be of sufficient quality
- The story must be good enough to be read. If a spell checker
turns red, if it is just one rambling paragraph. I am not saying
it has to be perfect, but I will not post up stories that I have a tough
time even figuring out where it is and who the characters are, then I
will not put it up. Most stories are good enough and will go up if
they meet the other areas.
The idea is to form a community, link people with similar likes together.
Sending messages to authors to say how they liked a story. Feedback and
interaction, working with others and meeting. Helping the superhero
community.
