Several hours later the Avengers were forced onto the roads exiting the city, too big to use conventional transportation they trekked on foot to the Xavier Institute further up state. The five received constant honking from the cars that passed them on the freeway, both to tell them to get out of the way and to get their attention.
"Hey get out of the way fat ass."
"Fuck you!" Growled Miss Marvel, glaring at the truck driver as he drove by them. With her stomach growling again and the echo of car horns behind her Carol looked to the others and sighed. "How about we just cut through the woods, I’m getting sick and tired of the hecklers on this road."
Stopping to the side the five creatures moved to the curb to consider it when another truck passed them by. "Hey an elephant parade, when did the circus come to town huh?" Laughed the driver honking his horn at the giant Avengers. "OH THAT IS IT!" Stomping over to the truck She-Hulk slammed her fist into the hood of the truck and crumpled the entire thing like tin foil. Seeing the shocked look at the potbellied truck driver Jen smirked at the man. "Hey Asshole… You need oil."
Steve didn’t approve and tried to pull the angry green furred woman away when something caught his attention, something in the air. "Hey ‘sniff’ what’s that smell?" Looking around with their nostrils flaring the Avengers slowly brought their attention to the truck’s cargo. A bright sunny logo on the side of the truck showed a grocer’s logo, from there all five Avengers felt the familiar haze brought on the last time they were hungry, and right now they were starving!
"Hey what the hell are you-"
Shoving the protesting driver at their feet out of the way the Avengers surrounded the truck trailer, Tony had dug his new claws into the steel siding, pulling it open like a can while She-Hulk and Natasha pried off the doors at the back. Not even bothering to open crates or boxes the five hungry monsters started gorging on what they could get their hands on, biting into cardboard boxes and gobbling up what was inside. Sliding back on the gravel the truck driver could only watch as the five 20 foot tall monsters ate his entire cargo, visibly growing larger with each mouthful they consumed. Looking over to Natasha he witnessed her belly swell larger after finishing off a crate, a strange red hourglass marking formed on her black furry stomach while she reached forward for more to eat. Iron Man stopped his meal briefly just as the arc reactor in his chest flickered before popping off his chest, the tiny hole resealing itself as the tiny battery fell to the ground dead and forgotten. Throughout it all the driver could hear their bodies’ change, their bones and muscles creak as they grew bigger and taller.
By the time they finished off the truck trailer and left it a splayed open metal wrapper the five had swollen to twice their previous bulk, now several tonnes in size and almost 5 feet taller. Their faces had changed also; their noses flatten and pushed forward like muzzles with pointed ears that reached past their shaggy hair, their tails had grown longer and thicker except for Black Widow’s which seemed to remain stubby. If anything they all looked like some kind of giant bear lion creatures that now towered two stories tall.
Sniffing the air the Avengers were still hungry even after eating so much in one sitting, looking down at the driver quickly trying to get away Captain America snatched the small man up in his massive claw like a mouse and brought him towards his face. "Please! I don’t care about the truck anymore just let me go!" Oblivious to the man’s pleas Steve sniffed at the greasy man, baring his fanged teeth and opening his mouth wide, the glazed look still in his eyes as he leaned back and dangled the man overhead…
