“Your fiancé, Mrs. Eberhart and the entire Bridal Boutique’s staff are being taken to the Mayor’s mansion just as you ordered, sir. I am following them.  My staff is tidying up the boutique and readying it to be fixed.  By morning it will be as if nothing happened,” Flynn spoke to the automated calling system inside of his S.U.V. as he followed the limousine.

“But something did happen, Mr. Flynn,” came the voice on the other end, “And I hold you personally responsible for it.”

Flynn rolled his eyes before uttering, “I’m sorry, sir.  But Kitty Pryde’s phasing ability so generously gifted to my men worked well in subduing the mutant known as Storm.  Thank you for that.  Will the white-haired bitch’s abilities also be passed on to the Stepford Security Force?”

“Thatis to be determined by my mutant genetics experts.  They’ve been called in.  They should arrive when Ms. Monroe does.  Then the fun begins,” the voice proclaimed enthusiastically.

“You’re a man who truly loves his work, Mr. Trask,” Mr. Flynn smiled.

“Mr.Flynn, you know what they say.  Find something you love to do and you’ll never work a day in your life,” Victor Trask said, “When you arrive at the clinic with my fiancé, take the special elevator.  Trust me.  Both you and Kitten will want to see this.”

Victor Trask ended the call and looked out from the elevated platform that housed his personal workstation in the large laboratory deep underneath the sunny streets of Stepford.  He scanned the rows of scientists, engineers and lab techs that were sitting at their computer consoles and smiled to himself.  The world above may belong to the chauvinistic pigs that called Stepford home, as well as their hyper-sexualized wives, but the large underground lab space was his to command.

If only his estranged, late father Bolivar Trask could see him now.  Victor and his mother had been kept a secret from Bolivar's important government friends.  Victor's smug face for a second fell to a disappointed frown.  His father kept many secrets, the biggest of all being that his own son and Victor's half-brother was a mutant.  But the man whose hatred of homo-superior burned so bright that he made mutant-hunting Sentinels made one mistake in Victor's upbringing.  He had left him with his mother, who had despised the elder Trask for leaving them for his other family much more than she could hate any mutant.  So while Bolivar Trask kept Victor and his mother comfortable through monetary gifts and the best education for his son, Victor's mother shaped his inherited genius-level intellect for other purposes.

"Mr. Trask, sir," came a breathy, high-pitched voice from the intercom at his workstation.  It was the voice of his secretary, who worked out of the Stepford Clinic.  The Clinic served as a front for the vast labyrinth of underground labs, "Like, your guests have arrived."

"Wonderful, Cari.  Why don't you escort them to the special elevator and send them down," Victor replied, as he straightened his tie.  He tapped on the Bluetooth earpiece and announced through the speakers in the room,"Everyone, if I could have your attention.  Stepford's newest prized geneticists are going to be my guests for Ms. Munroe's conversion, so if you all would look alive and be on your best behavior I would greatly appreciate it."
