Spider-Man crept along the ceiling of the hideout. He'd been in the crimefighting game long enough that finding a fully stocked cybernetic base inside an old warehouse didn't faze him in the slightest. He'd fiddled with some of the computers and found
plenty of files indicating the work of Carolyn Trainer, Lady Octopus, so he was pretty sure she was the one involved in Mary Jane's disappearance.
Unbeknownst to him, however, the base wasn't deserted. As he jumped into a new room, a set of metal claws fixed on a tensile metal coil struck and scratched the floor where he had been standing only a second earlier.
"Hello Spider" Scarlet Claw cooed as she launched her second claw.
"Lady Octopus?" Spider-Man asked as he bounded away, somersaulting past several strikes from the villainess. "Wow, you've had an extreme makeover, lady. I like the red hair, though, it almost..."
He trailed off as he realized what he was seeing. This lovely redhead in the formfitting bodysuit with the huge neckline reminded him of Mary Jane. There were facial similarities apart from the red hair, but the fighting style and acrobatics she displayed (which
Lady Octopus never had) also reminded him of...
"...Cat?" he mumbled, suddenly off guard.
"Not anymore, Spider!" Claw cackled.
The villainess surprised Spidey by using Black Cat's martial arts to somersault behind him, wrap her claw-coils around him and shock him. Stars swum in front of the crimefighter's eyes as she kept shocking him, until finally he slackened in her grip, unconscious.
"I really don't want to hurt you, you know" she cooed, brushing her captive lovingly. "Now where is Stinger..."

"Look, Frost" Jan snapped. "The only thing I want to discuss is to find whoever did this to me, or how to undo it!"
