This was on the old superstories and a few other interactive story sites with quite a few different branches. I'm not going to post those but I'll put up the start.
For every decision made the alternative outcomes are played out in any number of infinite alternate universes. So in some other universe certain key events in Buffy’s history played out differently and the following takes place in one such universe.
Season 1
Buffy and her family arrive in Sunnydale. Buffy meets Willow, Xander, Giles and Cordellia battles the Master blah blah blah and the events unfold in the same way.
Season 2
After the Masters death Spike and Drusilla arrive in town seeking to restore Drusilla to power. Buffy sleeps with Angel he turns evil goes on a killing spree. Jenny Calendar attempt to restore Angel’s soul but is found out and Angel tries to kill her only in
this universe she escapes and is later able to help Willow restore Angel’s soul but not before he opens up Acathla and Buffy sends him to hell. The paramedics arrive in time to revive Kendra who was technically dead for a few minutes allowin Faith to be called.
Season 3
Buffy returns from LA. Angel returns from Hell. Faith arrives bring Mr Trick. The Mayor plays out his evil big snake plan Giles blows up the school, Faith goes into a coma, Angel and Cordellia go to LA.
Season 4
Buffy and Willow go off to collage, Xander has loads of sex with Anya in his parents basement, Oz leaves, Willow meets Tara and becomes a lesbian Spike returns and gets a chip stuck in his head by Captain Cardboard. Faith comes out of her coma and winds up
in an LA prison
Season 5
A bunch of monks mold a key into a sister for Buffy, Joyce has a brain tumor but it is successfully removed and she DOES NOT die. Giles doesn’t kill Ben and thus Glory escapes and Buffy kills herself to save the world.
Season 6
Willow, Xander, Tara and Anya resurrect Buffy. Willow abuses her magic more and more breaking up with Tara.
But from here on events start to play out different.
Since he is still in a relationship with Jenny, Giles didn't move back to England but still spends much time travelling to meet with the watchers council.
Since Joyce is still alive Willow and Tara had continued living in their dorm and not Joyce’s bedroom and following the break-up with Tara, Willow moved in with Xander. She still de-ratted Amy and went on the dark magic bender before agreeing to give up magic
to try and win back Tara leading to Tara becoming the Scoobies resandent witch instead of Willow.
Anya and Xander’s wedding was still called off and Anya went back to being a vengeance demon.
Spike still went to get a soul and the Trio still tried to hijack the money van with Andrew and Jonathan being arrested after which Warren shot Buffy and the window of Joyce’s bedroom but with Joyce still alive Willow and Tara were not in the bedroom but instead
in Tara’s dorm discussing their relationship so no one else was shot. Willow therefore didn’t turn evil, there was no reason to break Andrew and Jonathan out of jail, Willow DIDN’T kill Rack or skin Warren and he was able to successfully escape.
Now begins the 7th year for Buffy in Sunnydale. Giles has gone back to England to meet with the Watchers Council about an impending threat, Anya is still a demon, several potential villains are at large and the new Sunnydale high has been opened………
