Click "search for targets" to find all nearby targets, or enter a target's name into the search box.

On a whim, Emma clicked the "search" button. This would be an appropriate test for the software - if it was fake, she wouldn't have done anything embarrassing; if it was real, then...

Searching... searching... returning targets. 52 targets found.

Emma raised a single, perfectly-sculpted eyebrow. The program had given her a list of all the mutants currently in the X-Mansion. It was missing Wolverine, too - he'd left only a few hours earlier, on a priority Avengers call. Even if this was a hoax, there was no way Kitty could have known that was going to happen.

No. This was real. Maybe. There was only one more test to do. Emma scrolled through the list, and clicked her own name.

Even Emma had to gasp.

One side of the screen was filled with text - tabs and tabs of information that Emma would almost certainly never read. She skimmed it quickly - name, age (her real age, too, not the one that she told everyone), height, weight, all the usual stuff. The other side of the screen was the surprising one: a perfect 3D model of herself, dressed exactly as she was, her usual costume but with no cape. Around most parts of the CGI body were sliders. Emma had read something in the tutorial about them being used to change people. Even though she had the best body money could buy, there was always room for improvement.

She stood up, pushed her chair away (just in case), and leaned over to the computer. A small change, to test. Emma had always been tall, was still tall at 5'11" barefoot, and her usual 6" heels made her tower over most of the other X-Men. But an extra inch or two never went astray, did it? Emma clicked in the "height" box, deleted the text already in there, retyped "6' 3"," and pressed "Enter".

...nothing. Emma sighed, disappointed, and then looked closer at the screen; there, in the middle, was a dialog box. A warning.

Warning. You have not saved your current state. Any changes cannot be reverted without saving your original state. Press OK to save original state, or Never Mind to continue without saving.

Emma clicked OK, and directed the program to save to her desktop - no harm in having a backup in case something went horribly wrong - and clicked Save.

Instantly it felt like she was on fire, all over, but from the inside, until the heat started to die down, cooling to a much nicer temperature. Not hurting, just... warm, like a particularly nice Summer day. She looked down, and could see the difference, without having to measure herself. She was taller. Four inches taller.

Emma looked at the computer and smiled. This was going to be fun.
