The shadows of New York, the back alleys and hidden tunnels underneath it. Crossroads of one sort of another fill the city, so it was not unexpected a crossroads might be seen in this place. The type of crossroads which opened... this was an unexpected as was the semi-invisible appearance of this dimensional vortex.

 Only a slight ripple in the air, a slight flickering of shadows... this was the only sign this part of New York was touching some place else. Someplace beyond this universe.

 As the midday sun hung overhead as it's protectors rested in their stone sleep, the door was open and like all doorways, something was passing through it from another world. Whether conscious of it or not. Something which would change the world of this New York of powerful magics and advance science... and warriors of stone!
