SHIELD lab techs Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz had been abducted from their own lab at gun point by two men who told them that they were going to be taken to a man named Mr Killgrave. Their hands were bound, then they were blindfolded and loaded into the
back seat of a large, black SUV. After a few minutes, the SUV stopped and the two agents were taken out and led through a parking garage to the basement of the Killgrave Corp medical testing facility. They were placed into separate rooms.
After a few minutes, Agent Simmons heard a voice.
"Jemma, I'm going to come into your holding room in just a moment. When I open the door, you are to remain completely still until I tell you that you are allowed to move."
Simmons panicked when she realized that she in fact, could not move.
She heard a door open and close, and then her blindfold and bindings were removed. She saw a tall man with dark hair and a purple suit standing above her.
"Agent Simmons, my name is Zebediah Killgrave, and we have a lot to talk about."
"You're the one behind all of the girls disappearing, aren't you? And why can't I move?"
"You can't move because I told you that you can't."
The realization suddenly hit Simmons, "You're a telepath aren't you?"
"Yes I am, I discovered my telepathic abilities some time ago. I'm surprised that you recognized it. None of the other girls knew until I told them."
"What did you do to them?"
"I simply took away their willpower. I am being paid a substantial amount of money to deliver young, attractive girls to my anonymous benefactor. His only condition is that they are completely susceptible to suggestion. Apparently his clients like to
customize the personalities of their purchases. Now let's begin..."
Jemma Simmons panicked as she felt him enter her mind. She could feel her willpower and resistance fading. She was completely aware of what was happening to her, but lacked the ability to do anything to stop it.
After Killgrave left, someone else entered the room and led her to a different part of the building. She recognized a couple of the girls that had vanished recently and she also saw Skye standing against the wall with a terrified look on her face. Simmons was
told to stand against the wall and remain silent and not to move until instructed to. She was completely powerless to do anything but comply.
