Heather entered the apartment where her 'mother' had called her... while telepathically reaching her many sisters across the planet.
'I think I have found my protectate or at least a candidate for the position. He will need a little work, especially overcoming this planet's resistance against sexually mature female of a certain age.' thought Heather as she thought of her alien sisters.
Her people were powerful psionic aliens, ones who mastered telepathic and telekinetic arts. Minds were all open to them, and even physical forms of all life were easily altered by their telekinetic arts. Like the mutant monster Apocalypse, the could control
their cells allowing for shape-shifting, regenerations and longivity. Which is why she and her sisters took on the form of extremely beautiful very young females of the human race. Also the power was not limited to their bodies but also the bodies of others.
Which is why they had been expelled from their planet. Slavers came and started to kill off their males and capture their females. Not having dealt with violence, they were overrun and enslaved before they had known what happened. Or had been enslaved before
they learned to use their powers to send all of the slavers into lifeboats to survive the void of space (Not exactly lethal, they still had trouble with causing the death of any life. No matter how evil.
The ships went out looking for protector-mates or protectates, males and sometimes females who would protect them from danger... even if Heather's people had to change them a little. They were also looking to breed with the protectates, for while the children
would have all of the powers of Heather's race... they would have the strengths and more importantly survival instincts of their fathers. Their father's being given youth, handsomeness and longivity by their mothers.
Heather was in telepathic contact as her sisters found their own protectates.
