Emma left them to it...it was time to keep up her links with the X-men. She was on...an unsteady relationship with the team...some...like Forge and Cyclops accepted it in as much as she had helped make friends where there were none...but the idealists of the team...refused to talk to her...siding with the Queenpin of crime was a betrayal of all the team stood for...Shadowcat above all...well, that little bitch never had liked her....

As with Petula Mattie woke up...in the middle it seemed of her life...She was every inch the lawyer he had been but without the aim or ideals...she loved the breaking down of witnesses...and worked with people like the Queenpin because they let her be as she was and didn't ask questions...Besides they were fun...and her super senses made breaking people down all the easier...

The Car arrived for Petula at the corner from her place of work...as usual Hammerhead didn't come himself...and she liked it that way, it showed her how powerful he was....The man inside opened the door for her automatically and drove off as soon as she was in....the drive wasn't long...the grim looking structure was soon insight...she was pointed to the secret lift kept out of sight that led to his penthouse...

Mattie was looking over the current crop of problems...Why had they hired such newbies while she was away? That last one could have exposed them all...well she was back in charge now...that would be over, and it would be time for...hehehe...celebrations...
