Victoria Hand ran a single, slender finger through her hair, pinching the long, straight strand of purple highlight that framed her face. She turned in her seat, sliding her side-arm inside her jacket and into the under-wire holster she wore, and addressed
the two women sitting opposite her as she patter her jacket down, "So, everything is ready?"
Maria Hill sat opposite her and simply glowered in response, checking her own side-arm and sliding it into the bandoleer she wore atop her S.H.I.E.L.D. standard-issue jumpsuit; navy blue, sleek and form-fitting.
"Riiight," Hand nodded, then turned to the other woman; "Stupid question. What about you, Ms. Potts?"
Pepper Potts jerked upright, eyes wide, nodding sullenly as she wrapped a hand into her own jacket and pants suit and pressed a hand to her beating chest, "Of course."
Hand glanced around, out the back window of the limousine and at the rental van that was trailing them; fully staffed by S.H.I.E.L.D. 'cape-killers', left over super-soldiers from the Civil War and Osbourne' Dark Reign. "If anything goes wrong how fast will
the super-toys be able to storm the building?"
"It won't go wrong," Hill shook her head, speaking at last, "We'll be watching and Ms. Potts has very graciously offered her assistence with this investigation; she'll be posing as an interested investor and you'll be posing as her bodyguard, Hand. Stay
calm, stick to the plan and find out what you can about this B.T. Infrastructure conglomerate."
"But..." Hand slowly raised an eyebrow, coaxing Hill with a hand.
"But if it goes wrong, the back-up team can have the building secured and searched within ten minutes," Hill sighed, rolling her eyes as the limousine rolled to a stop at it's destination; a towering mega-structure in the heart of New York. "But it won't
come to that."
Hand smirked, "Best laid plans..."
Pepper caught her breath, nodded and smoothed out her pant-suit.
"...let's go, Ms. Potts." Hand smiled as the limousine door swung open from the outside and the two women stepped out into the open air.
