Ororo Munroe had been walking along the Jersey Shore after a small altercation between the X-Men and the U Foe's resulting in the U-Foe's retreating over the Ocean.  She waded into the water to cool off her long, lithe legs and luxuriated in the feeing of the water lapping against waist.  Suddenly looking at her hands and arms Storm noticed her skin taking on a pale blue hue then she was suddenly gasping for breath... she couldn't breathe, her neck, throat and chest burning she threw herself into the water...

Relief flowed into her as she instinctually began using the gills "Gills?" that had formed on her neck.  Storm did not understand what had happened but realized she no longer cared, this was right, the way things were supposed to be and she knew she belonged at her lover's side.  Summoning her mutant powers she called upon the ocean currents to propel her into the depths as someone elese at one time might have summoned the wind to allow flight...

Into the dark, sunless depths of the Atlantic she swam, searching for Attuma, lord of Atlantis and her lover and master.
