Goliath let out a roar and leapt at Oberon, lava gushing
from his mouth and his deadly talons raised to tear the king of the fae apart.
The other dragons roared and prepared themselves to join in, not wanting to
miss out on a chance to snack on the two rulers of the fair folk.
“How droll,” Oberon said, mildly annoyed, before simply
raising his hand and smacking Goliath away. It was like a mouse striking an
elephant… and the elephant went flying. Goliath crashed into Demona, sending
both of them into a nearby building. “I suppose you believed that Odin was the
norm for our kind? You may be correct… I find it sad that so many of my subject
and kin get by on a handful of meager tricks.” Oberon merely turned and glared
at Elisa. “But we are not the norm.”
“Hurry up and kill them,” Angela whined. “I want to get back
to the nest and snooze.”
“Bloated frog,” Oberon retorted.
“While my husband tends to be arrogant… it comes from a
place of truth.” Titannia’s eyes flashed and the dragons watched as the two
rulers began to grow. Much as Oberon had when he’d attempted to steal Alexander
Xanatos, the two of them began to rise up, higher and higher, their bodies
swelling until they easily towered over the dragons. Elisa, Demona, and Angela
did something they hadn’t needed to do in some time: look UP.
“The power of the eye has clearly muddled your thoughts,”
Titannia stated. “While I would prefer not to kill you I will do what I must to
break the spell you’ve placed on my child.”
“My bride speaks only for herself… I for one have no problem
killing you!” With that Oberon lashed out, the dragons taking to the air to
avoid his attacks. The king of the fairies kicked and punched like a man
attempting to sway a fly, the Deadly Seven having to stay on their toes to
avoid being hit. Even Angela, much to her annoyance, was forced to move.
“They’re bigger than me!” Delilah whined. “I want to be
bigger too!”
“Then sink your fangs into them, you whiny bitch!” Maggie
snapped. “Act as I do and you’ll be fine. You can’t match me but my worst would
be more than enough!”
“Foolish beasts,” Oberon stated, adding another 30 feet to
his form for good measure. “You will die here and then I will set about fixing
all the damage you have caused!”
Elisa flew onto Titannia’s back and sank her claws into her
shoulders. “Maybe I’ll only take part of your power… weaken you till you are
little more than a human, and then turn you into one of us. You could service
your daughter, licking away what seed gushes out of her snatch and cleaning her
breasts with your tongue!”
Titannia roared and grabbed Elisa, throwing her to the
ground.
While Oberon and Titannia thundered through Central Park
attacking the gargoyles a blond-haired man with a stone hand moved quietly
through the remains of Xanatos’ tower, a cell phone pressed to his ear. “It is
working, Mr. Xanatos,” Puck, in his Owen form and personality, said simply. “The
horde isn’t noticing me.”
On the other end of the phone Xanatos chuckled. “As I
theorized. Predators such as them care about large prey… they’ve grown so big
that humans, unless they do something foolish, aren’t a concern of theirs. They
will leave you alone so long as you don’t pose a threat. Tell me, are my
mother-in-law and her glowering husband battling Goliath and his clan?”
“Indeed,” Owen said as he made it to what had once been
Xanatos’ office. His face cringed for a moment at the stench of dung but he
moved forward towards the far wall. “They have increased their height and
engaged in a rather epic battle.”
“Epic but foolish,” Xanatos stated. “Oberon attempted this
once and would have defeated us if not for Fox’s accidental magic. Oberon’s
hubris has led him to believe that this is the best method to win any fight. I,
on the other hand, have learned from my mistakes.” There was a clatter in the
background before Xanatos spoke again. “Though I do admit I wasn’t planning on
facing dragons and fairies at the same time. The conversion of my armor to suit
both plans is an annoyance but I believe I shall be ready in a moment. Have you
found it?”
Owen frowned as he used his stone fist to rip into the wall,
his good hand reaching in and pulling out a safe. “I would know if you had told
me would I was obtaining.”
“You’ll know when you see it,” Xanatos stated. He chuckled
over the phone. “Poor Odin… so focused on his eye when there was another weapon
he’d lost that would have won him the day.”
Owen opened the safe as his employer spoke and, for the
first time ever… broke character. “My word…” Owen said in Puck’s voice. “How
did you obtain…”
“We all have our secrets. Get it to the meeting spot. Time
for me to save the world… again.”
