Call it the Red, the Template, the Lifeweb, or the Morphogentic field.... this was the force of all animal life in the universe, or at least the planet Earth. The field is protected by an Avatar who have mostly been human, who then retire to join the
Parliament of Limbs. It's counterparts are the Green of plant life which contains the Parliament of Trees, as well as the Rot or Black and the Parliament of Decay for dead (and Undead) things.
There were three amulets which contained the power to control those forces and those connected to any of them:
The Amulet of Corpses, allowed one to control the powers of necromancy and death based powers. It also allowed one to control the dead, undead, those with dead or undead personas and those with necromantic powers of death. Whether mortal or immortal, up to
the personifications of Death itself.
The Amulet of the Sprouts, allowed one to control the power of plants and the life forces of planets. As well as anyone who was part or totally made of plants, those with plant personas plus those who copied and/or commanded the power of plants. From mortals
to immortals like traditional Earth Mothers, Gods of Harvest, Gods of Agriculture and so on.
The Amulet of The Lifeweb, allowed one to control the powers of animals, animals or creatures who were part animal, the life force of animals or those who had powers/personas connected to animals. From mortals to immortals, from gods who took a part animal
form, gods of Animals and/or the Hunt and so on...
The Amulets had been scattered to the four... well, three corners of the Earth.\
Till one was found, sent to the museum of a major city. Where it had been about to be stolen till it was hit and shattered into pieces. One single pulse was sent out by the shattered Amulet of the Lifeweb. The Red, The Green and the Black... all had one goal,
to expand across the universe. With this pulse, everyone connected to the Red, by power or persona, had an urge to reproduce. In other words they were in heat, releasing special pheromones even as they were wanting to rut with the best (and usually powerful
and beautiful/handsome) examples of their species.
The pheromones would affect any living creature, making them want to have sex with the one connected to the Red Connected. They also gained great fertility, as well as the power to genetically gift their children with the animal powers/persona. As well as
allowing breeding with lifeforms they would not be able to. Also the Red connected would also be especially easily seduced and have an extremely low resistance to the pheromones of another Red connected.
Those with only animal persona would soon gain animal powers as well.
