"Here," Wonder Woman sullenly replied as the warden called her name.
"That's here, ma'am," the warden corrected in strict tone.
"Here, ma'am," Wonder Woman answered again.
Any thought this former paragon of heroes was here as anything other than a new prisoner was dispelled at the sight of her current attire. An orange prison jumpsuit hugged her body, her Wonder Woman costume having been taken from her. Heavy handcuffs and
leg irons encircled her wrists and ankles. Chains ran between these shackles and to a collar around her neck. The shackles and chains were made of adamantium and the collar also served as a power dampener, rendering her powerless.
The former super heroine and ambassador kept her face stoic as she took in the sight of the armed guards who were receiving them. She noticed a number of her sisters from Themyscira amongst their ranks. It hurt her to know so many Amazons had been displaced
during the dimensional merger and it took all her willpower not to cry as she was once more reminded of the destruction that had befallen her beloved home.
A couple of the Amazon guards looked at her in sympathy, but most hid their feelings behind a mask of indifference. Regardless of their personal feelings, they had been raised from birth to always be loyal to their leaders and those were now the new world
government that had arisen in the aftermath of the chaos of the merger. Themyscira was no more and even if their former princess stood before them in chains, not one would free her if she'd been duly sentenced.
As these thoughts crossed through the minds of Wonder Woman and her Amazon jailors, the warden called the name of the next woman in line.
