New York City

Mary Jane made sure she didn’t cry as Pete came out of the bed room in his Spiderman garb, kissed her good night, and went with the roof the take the Hypersonic craft to Angel City.  But once he was gone, an emerald in her wedding ring started glowing… Like a zombie Mary Jane went to the radiator next to the window and started tapping out a coded message.

-Hydra Command, Spiderman has left for Angel City, will pose as villain with black cat, will return by dawn so Peter Parker can be assigned to go to Angel City for Shield mission.  Should be gone for days.

With the message sent Mary Jane’s eyes cleared and MJ went to the kitchen and blew her nose, she was convinced that she had just taken a moment to cry by the window like the wife’s of soldiers must do when their soldiers go off to war.

Angel City

Darcy sat in her couch after her long day.  One thing was certain, she was already wanting to get into a cat fight with this agent Harmon.  The smug blonde seemed to be intent on provoking her.  Reaching over she flicked on the police scanner and reached for the can of soda.  Maybe Agent Harmon needed a little sting… but that would bring the feds into Angel City for sure.  But it could mean the Mayor would be dealt with… but they would probably be after her too.

“All units please be advised Aerobicide has been spotted breaking into vaults in the diamond district,” the dispatcher called over the radio, “It looks like she is going for all of them!”

“I thought I fried that cyborg!” Darcy sighed getting up and rushing to her lair.

*Diamond district, Angel City

“Forty three!” Aerobicide shouted as she tore the vault door from the hinges and tossed at the men who owned the exchange, “Let’s go Bend and Stretch!”

“But boss!” Bend complained.

“We are already carrying over a hundred pounds each of diamonds!”

“I’d be happy to return those to their owners!” Black Scorpion said from the entrance way.

“Get her!” Aerobicide shouted.

The hench-girls dropped the sacks of diamonds and rushed the heroine.  Black Scorpion punched Bend in the gut and elbowed Stretch in the face.  Aerobicide did the math in her head and snatched up the two hundred plus pounds of diamonds and made her way out the back ally.  Two seconds later Black Scorpion came out the back and started chasing the cyborg.  To her shock, Aerobicide seemed to just be ripped right off the street into the air by some unseen force. One of the bags of diamonds came crashing back to earth nearly landing on Black Scorpion’s head.  As Detective Walker, she knew she should secure the evidence, but as Black Scorpion she just had to get the cyborg!

“Freeze!” Detective Steve Rafferty shouted.

“What’s more important?” Black Scorpion taunted, “The evidence or a bystander?”

Black Scorpion dashed up the fire escapes as quickly as she could finding the open window of an attic.  Right inside Aerobicide was hanging from spider webs with some chips pulled from her neck and over in a corner was the Spiderman…

“Let me guess,” Spiderman tried to sound scary, “another do-gooder intent of giving me an errors of my ways number 47-D speech?  With Gusto!”

“Did you kill her?” Black Scorpion asked.

“Don’t you know anything about spiders?” Spiderman turned around, “We paralyze our prey and then wrap them up for later. I let you have the other bag.”

“Nearly killed me with it,” Black Scorpion moved her finger past Aerobicide’s eyes, “She is responding.”

“And she would be shouting if I hadn’t pulled her voice box,” Spiderman said.

“Thanks for the help,” Black Scorpion said, “But did you ever hear about the spider and the frog?”

“Nope, have you heard about the scorpion that tripped over the Black Cat?” Spiderman crossed his arms.

Black Scorpion was blindsided and slammed into a mirror stunning her.

“Seven years bad luck,” Black Cat hissed as she moved towards the Spiderman.

“Why?” Black Scorpion asked.

“Haven’t you heard what my PR guys have been putting out?” Spiderman snapped, “Public Enemy Number One, Daily Bugle offering a million dollar reward for my head?”

“Your head isn’t worth a million dollars sweaty,” Black Cat interjected, “I’d pay fifty at the most for your head, now the rest of you…”

“Besides how do you think we finance this little operation?” Spiderman snapped, “Selling selfies to the Bugle? Rob the robbers and it’s just evidence that was never recovered right?”

“Speaking of Bugle’s camera monkey where do you think he is right now?” Black Cat asked.

“About now?” Spiderman shrugged, “Parker should be picking his nose in an alley behind Broadway listening to a police scanner.”

“Not giving that editor a blow job?” Black Cat smiled.

“I thought that is what he was willing to pay a million dollars for me to do!”

With that both out of towners left, and Black Scorpion got up.  She wobbled around trying to figure out why her stinger hadn’t gone off the entire time.  Then it went off by itself, striking a door knob, causing Slugger to scream from the other side of the door.

“Oh no!” Black Scorpion’s eyes went wide.

The door was kicked in by Specs as Black Scorpion headed out the still open window.

Darcy made her way into her lair to check her stinger. Not only had it been malfunctioning but the Scorpion-mobile blew a cooling line on the way back. Taking a seat at her desk she pulled the ring off and started looking it over, just then her bad luck struck as she ended up shocking herself.

Secure Location, Outside Angel City

“I’ll be taking that,” the S.H.E.I.L.D. agent grabbed the bag of diamonds from the two, “It will be recovered by Border Patrol in three days.”

“Dang it,” Black Cat snapped, “Don’t I get anything for this?”

“Technically I was the one to do the work here,” Spiderman said.

“Agent Harmon just got three thousand dollars added to her budget, Miss Hardy just got a small chunk of change in her play account and Mr Parker will be getting a generous contribution for helping out tonight.  I understand he kept a rich old lady from getting mugged in an alley behind Broadway.”

“I was bugged wasn’t I?” Peter asked.

“Lets get you back to New York to be yelled at by your boss,” the Agent said.
