Lucas' girlfriend Lauren was also sleeping at Peter's place. She and Lucas were together for 5 months now. Lauren is a bit older then Lucas, she is 21 years old and a bit of a geek. But so is Lucas. Lauren is also a member of the history association on her school.
Lauren walks past Peter's room and looks inside. She notices the mask on his desk. Breakfast is waiting for her downstairs, but that mask looks ancient. It may be something for the collection of the history association at school. It's absolutely forbidden to enter Peter's room and she knows it, but the mask could be something special.
Lauren carefully opens the door and walks towards Peter's desk. She grabs the mask and takes a close look.
Lauren: *What have we got here! It must be very old, according to the state of the wood. I've never something like this in my entire life. Must be worth something if it's authentic.*
Lauren investigates the outside of the mask. The wood looks old and the metal strip on the middle of the mask is rusty. Lauren turns the mask to take a closer look to the inside of the mask. When she turns it, the sunlight falls on the mask.
Lauren: *What was that? Some kind of green shimmering? It look likes the inside is painted or something?*
With her fingers, she feels the inside of the mask. It feels smooth, without cracks, like there are on the outside.
Lauren: *How is that possible? The inside feels so smooth, but the outside has some cracks..*
Laurens fingers slide over the inside of the mask. Again she sees a shimmering in the inside of the mask.
Lauren: *Who would wear something like this? It's sooo ugly.. Maybe something for halloween?*
Lauren takes her glasses of and puts them on Peter's desk. She walks towards the mirror with the mask in her hand.
Lauren: *Let's see how scary I look with this mask on.. Maybe I'll keep it if it looks very scary.*
She takes a last look at the mask and brings it to her head.
