Once upon a time the place had been called Times Square, now it was the courtyard of the Palace of Nocturne. It had been here that the Mortal armies of America, The Justice League and the Avengers were defeated and the Vampire Goddess had declared her rule over the mortals once more. With the enslaved, enthralled and vamped scientists the once feared Daylight now was powerless to help the mortals thanks to the orbiting network of UV shields that kept the Vampires safe.
The world had been divided into dominions with a lord over it, and each city had a lord with their own cabal of lesser vampires to rule over the enslaved human herds. Most of the lesser vampire enforcers had once been the mortal champions charged with protecting the mortals they have now enslaved.
