Harley's Heroine Heist

Wow!

Wilder, solddate, clifford.cao I am in awe of what you have written. You are superb, and it means I really appreciate the kind things some of you have said about the small initial bit I wrote.

But enough of that!

Solddate, did you a definite idea for a costume challenge or was it a more general asking for idea? I'm not too happy with my redesign of Power Girl's uniform, it's a bit too extreme. Harley, and Clifford.cao, are right when they say "a proper costume change should [have] enough 'a your old uniforms remainin' to remind everyone of who you once were". So, I'm really eager to hear better ideas :)

LesLes - It was basically a broad challenge for anyone to design a costume for the story, for any heroine. Granted the scenario of the story, particularly right now, may not allow for immediate application, but as I said they'll be plenty of opportunity when we move to the new targets. They can write it into the story themselves, or pass a description onto here I guess.

To be honest, I really enjoyed your Power Girl design, particularly for the description & application, which has made me want to go back and add proper detail to my dressing of Canary. Only criticism I might find is you may have forgotten about her cape... However, even if you're not 100% satisfied with Power Girl's costume change, there's plenty more heoine's to redeisgn and I'm not gonna deny Zee-Zee's costume is Harley's best work. But I'm happy to exchange ideas.

P.S. Thanks for the good words, btw. I second it for both Wilder and Clifford.cao, throw 'em back at you for getting this ball rolling. Cheers.

I'm kinda with LesLes here. Karen's costume change did strike me as a little too... extreme. That, and I kinda have trouble envisioning it properly.

Then again, I've still got zero ideas for a costume change myself, so what the hell do I know?

You know enough Cliff, namely you're opinion. I can see you're point about envisioning it (pun), but I was impressed by LesLes' detail and I was able to pin down an image 'cos of that. While I agree that the suit contains more Harley than Power Girl, I think Karen's love for Harley (as LesLes put) is similar to Harley's for the Joker. So, for Harley to change Power Girl so much, like the Joker did to her, is rather appropriate to me. Plus, the design's fitiing of a Power Slut, no?
(Btw, I've added in the cape in my latest post, so I hope I'm not treading on any toes there)

As for help with ideas:

• First, find yourself a heroine you'd like to see corrupted by Harley (doesn't have to be Huntress, who still needs changing at this point)
• Next, get her current costume firmly fixed in your mind, noting symbols and colour scheme.
• Then ramp up the sex appeal of that design anyway you like, switch the colours to red, black or white. Be sure to either make a mockery of the symbols (e.g. remove the background to the S on Supergirl's chest, so that it's only the S covering her cleavage) or remove/replace them entirely.

Oh, and don't forget to apply the clown face paint! It's does final brush strokes that paint the picture! You don't hafta limit yourself to white with red or black eyes & lips, if you can imagine a Harley themed facial design, then do it! For example, playing card symbols on the eyes rather than painted on domino masks.

Clifford.cao - *blinks eyes in disbelief after reading last post* Okay, didn't see that coming... Alright, alright, I agree this is what makes the internet fun and a lil' bit scary. Just to warn you though, if I'm writing for characters like that, I'm writing them as Arkham psychoes with those characters as themes/bases for their psychosis and powers. 'Cos no way am I straight writing Spongebob straight into Batman, capiche?
(Btw, good to see another abridged fan, although I prefer "To duel with the Devil in the pale moonlight!")
