Supergirl kept her eyes lowered, staring down at the restraints binding her wrists and ankles.  The wrist shackles barely permitted her to move her arms apart and the ankle shackles permitted her to walk only with small steps.  A chain ran from the leg shackles to her wrist shackles, limiting how high she could raise her arms.  The power-dampeners built into the cuffs of the shackles suppressed her abilities, reducing her to the strength of a normal woman.

She was still dressed in her costume, having worn it to her trial.  She'd hoped the sight of her in her Supergirl outfit might've garnered sympathy, reminding people she was a hero.  Alas, this had not been the case.  If anything, it seemed to make the judge even more eager to sentence her to prison as an example to others.

The prisoner compartment of the van had no windows, but if she could look outside she’d see she was nearing her destination.  The Blue Ridge Prison for Meta-Powered Women, as its name suggested, was located in the Blue Ridge Mountain range, a subset of the Appalachian Mountains.  Built inside and underneath one of the mountains, the prison was a veritable fortress, designed to keep its inmates secure within.

The van past multiple security checkpoints before reaching the steel gates in the side of the mountain that served as the main entrance.  Passing through, the van drove on through a tunnel until it neared the center of the mountain.  There, it drove into a vehicle elevator and descended underground.  Finally, it emerged into an indoor sally port where new arrivals were dropped off.

“On your feet!” one of the guards barked at Supergirl as the door to the van opened, “Let’s go!”

She slowly rose from her seat, forced to stoop slightly because the chain running between her wrist and ankle restraints kept her from rising to her full height.  She shuffled out of the van as quickly as her shackles would permit.  More armored guards were present to receive her.

“Pick up the pace, inmate!” another guard shouted, smacking her rear with his stun baton.

The sudden shock to her bottom elicited a yelp of pain from her as she stumbled forward.  With her powers suppressed, she truly was at the mercy of the guards.

She was led from the sally port, deeper into the prison.
