The book held one power, as it had been created by a Sorcerer-King of Atlantis to unite the world under his banner. People would have the strong desire to follow the person who possesses the book, either physically or non-physically. Only the idea of
the person possessing or holding access to the book was needed to gain the power.
However, like another artifact, it was a double bladed sword.
The Spear of Destiny, the spear which pierced the side of Christ in legend, held a similar two edges. If one came into possess, whether physically or in a secure place under control of the owner, it would allow one to become invincible with their armies able
to unable to be defeated in battle. If the Spear was lost from the person possession, stolen/taken by an enemy or lost out of the control of the owner... that owner would die.
The book was similar, as while it would not kill the user directly, it would release those won over to the user's side save for the truly loyal. Those who were not truly loyal would develop an aversion and even hatred of the user, and even each other. Unity
would be replaced by division, civil behaviour with civil war, and so on...
There were legends on how the original Sorcerer-King had planned avoid the negative effects of the book's power while gaining all of the positives. However, as it is not written in the book, has been lost to history.
As such, the book is lost in time till it was found by...
