Barbara Gordon and the recently reborn Jean Grey walked into the New York city costume shop. Barbara had known Jean as an earlier generation of heroes before she scarified herself during the Phoenix crisis and now that Jean was a year younger than her was kind of weird. Still the two red heads were friends and needed costumes for the party. A Princess had elected to hold a costume ball at the New York City UN embassy.
“So how did you get invited?” Barbara asked Jean.
“Star pupil of the Xavier school for the gifted,” Jean smiled, “How did you get yours?”
“Mr. Wayne passed the invitation to Wayne Foundation plus one to Dick and me,” Barbara smiled, “Well rather he gave me the invite and told me to drag Dick along.”
From her post in at the door to the shop’s office the witch gave a wicked smile… her magic had shown her the guests before the door opened. With a few quite words the old witch took a much younger ladies form. Her first victims would need help with their purchases…
