Unbeknownst to the Skull, his plan was not as secret as he believed; S.H.I.E.L.D. was well aware that he was up to something in this castle. What that was, however, was a mystery. Their intel suggested that some sort of biological experiment was in progress,
but that still left too many unknowns; was he creating some sort of bio-weapon or was he creating super-soldiers, or something else? Were all of the researchers and test-subjects evil volunteers, or were some of them coerced innocents in need of rescue? Could
the whole thing be a trap?
More information was needed before a proper response could be organized, which was why one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top operatives was currently infiltrating the castle, namely Sharon Carter, Agent 13 and Captain America's lover. She'd gotten inside the castle with
very little trouble, and was currently looking through Zola's notes.
Making an army of super-clones indoctrinated to believe in Nazi ideology and worship the Red Skull was neither the most bizarre nor the most alarming thing he'd ever done, but it was particularly messed up that he was only duplicating women. The idea of a woman
with her face servicing the Skull's no-doubt depraved appetites made Sharon feel slightly ill, but not as much as the thought of that double sliding into bed with Steve and slipping a knife between his ribs at the moment of climax.
She copied the notes, put them back exactly where she found them, and made her way out. Unfortunately, with those disturbing scenarios running through her mind she was a tad bit distracted, and thus ran straight into...
